A MoU with regard to co-operation was signed between Children Hospital Lahore and Royal Marsden Hospital England here on Saturday. Chairperson Children Cancer and Leukaemia Group UK Dr Mary Taj and Medical Director Children Hospital Lahore Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore signed the MoU. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Members Provincial Assembly Dr Saeed Elahi, Dr Asad Ashraf, Kh. Salman Rafiq, Secretary Health, Professors, Doctors and faculty members were also present on this occasion.
Talking on this occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the agreement of co-operation made between Children Hospital Lahore and Royal Marsden Hospital England is a good omen through which medical experts will benefit from each others' experiences and best treatment facilities would be available to the children suffering from fatal disease of cancer in Pakistan. He said that the close co-operation between two hospitals will also help in reducing the mortality rate in children. He said that Children Hospital is playing an effective role in the service to ailing humanity and this hospital has also played an important role in the campaign for eradication of dengue. He said that thousands of precious lives have been saved due to tireless efforts of doctors, paramedical staff and nurses and Allah Almighty will reward them for service to ailing humanity.
