Ayaz's book 'Comments' launched

Renowned columnist and analyst Fakir S Ayaz-ud-Din has launched his book entitled "Comments" on Tuesday. The book is a collection of Ayaz's columns that have been published in a local newspaper. A ceremony was held at auditorium of Arts Council, organised Special Events Committee of Arts Council to formally introduce the columns of writer in compiled form.
Addressing the ceremony noted educationist and provincial education minister Dr Hamida Khoro said that the writer touched a number of topics in his columns, including politics, law and order, the governance, regional issues. She said that Ayaz expressed his valuable views in a very simple and heart-touching manner and language. She said that his columns reflect his emotions and his energetic personality. She further said that it was an honour for her to be present at the ceremony and she had been reading his columns. At the end, she said that the only criticism, which she wanted to mention, was the small print of the writing in the book.
Talking about the book and the columnist, Humayun Gauhar, famous columnist, shed light on the state forward personality and write ups of Ayaz. He shared with audience in a frankly manner that how he urged Ayaz to express his feelings and concerns through column writing. In connection with the approach of author, he talked about the changing trends of media and journalism and the role of various medium of media including social in such diverted situation.
He also charged ongoing trends including phone hacking and sting operations in journalism and termed them against the ethics of journalism. He was of the view that now days what seems is not a reality. Gauhar also criticised the invasion of global forces in different regional issues.
He concluded his speech at an advice to the author for the launch of his own website. On the occasion Rahat Kazmi, an actor and intellectual figure, read two columns of the writer, which reflected the bold style and grip of author on the issues of the country. Senior Lawyer Khoaja Naveed also hailed the courage of the author and said that Ayaz's columns reflect the emotions of a true Pakistani.
