Plea against Nawaz dismissed

Published Updated

A two-judge bench of Supreme Court at Lahore registry dismissed here on Tuesday for non prosecution an appeal seeking reopening of cases relating to illegal allotment of plots against PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif. The cases were made during the rule of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto (late).
Lahore development authority's former director general Major M.H Ansari (Retd) had filed this appeal challenging an order of a Lahore high court full bench wherein the cases of corruption in LDA plots were cancelled. Advocate-on-record informed the bench that the petitioner had not been pursuing the case for many hearings. At this the bench dismissed the appeal.
