Taiwan stocks ended up 2.15 percent on Monday, the biggest one-day percentage gain in three weeks, lifted by HTC Corp and Apple supply chain firms, which have seen strong investor interest after recent corrections. The main TAIEX index rose 158.36 points to 7,525.65, after opening up 1.42 percent. Oil and gas counters were the top gainers, jumping 3.77 percent.
Electronics shares soared 2.53 percent, with HTC Corp limit-up. Apple touch panel makers TPK Holding and Wintek, and camera module maker Largan Precision all went limit-up. The financial sub-index advanced 1.4 percent.
