Mian Sajid Pervez ex-MNA has said PPP's ruling elite should consider the ground realities as die-hard party workers were being ignored constantly, which has created political vacuum from which the emerging force of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) could take advantage.
Addressing press conference here at Multan Press Club on Monday, Sajid Pervez demanded of the government to constitute a 'truth commission' comprising judiciary members to probe into the extraordinary increase in the assets of ruling elites, their relatives and friends.
He said he was first PPP worker who voiced first against corruption inside the party as a result; PPP's top slots not only sidelined him but also started character assassination campaign on media against them particularly Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said "I fought at ideological and practical fronts for 15 years in the party due to which Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari entrusted me responsibilities for my party but I never misused the authority and took undue favour during my long career", he observed.
Shah alleged Jahangir took undue favour and illegal gratification from his party position. "Badar took diesel, scrap and textile permits, LPG and Hajj quotas violating the rules and regulations, licences for establishment of sugar mills and banks, contracts at the national exchequer", Shah maintained. "I publicly challenge Badar to prove any of the above blessings on me, he might be hanged in front of parliament house", Shah Mehmood challenged.
