Six persons killed during Eid holidays

At least six persons were killed in the incidents of targeted killings in various parts of the metropolis during the last three days of Eid-ul-Azha. According to police, an armed clash between two groups at Muhammadi Colony, in the limits of Docks police station, left two persons namely Rehmatullah Pathan and Mansoor killed while one Ismail got injured.
They said the victim Rehmat, who was a watchman in a market, had been warned by the deceased Mansoor to leave the area but he refused to do so. After which, Mansoor along with his three other accomplices namely Randin, Ismail and Safdar reached at Rehmat's residence, where the two groups exchanged fire, which left Rehmat and Mansoor killed while Ismail was injured.
In another incident, Nadir Ali son of Sadiq Ali was gunned down on Masjid road, in the limits of Chakiwara police station. Police suspect that the victim, who had a mobile shop at the place of incident, was killed when he offered resistance during a robbery bid. They said the deceased had got married some six months ago.
In yet another incident, a bullet-riddled body of a man was found in a rickshaw, parked at Abdullah Goth in the jurisdiction of Surjani police station. Police said the victim, who was later identified as Irfan Massi, 28, was a rickshaw driver by profession. They said body of the deceased, who was the resident of Umar Barohi Goth, was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A case was registered on the complaint of the victim's brother, Imran.
In another incident, the father of two children killed his wife over some domestic issue in the limits of Brigade police station. Police said the accused was a menial worker by profession. No case was registered till filing of this report. One more person was killed at Behar Colony within the limits of Chakiwara police station. Police said the victim, who was identified as Jamsheed, son of Arif, was targeted at his flat located in Taji Arcade. They suspected that the victim, who appeared to be Punjabi speaking, might have been murdered over personal enmity.
