Punjab government is giving incentive to youngsters for their self employment, under which funds of one billion rupees have been earmarked for disbursing the loan of Rs 50,000/- to each applicant through distribution of yellow cab vehicle has already been started, while 100,000 laptops would also be distributed among the students in near future.
This was stated by Punjab Minister for Education, Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, when he was visiting the office of the education board here to examine the process of rechecking of papers of intermediate part-I examination. He directed the officers to complete the task transparently before the stipulated time, adding that the process should be trustable by the students and their parents. The minister said that the under the vision of CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab government is committed to strength the examination system to curb the 'booti mafia' and a computerised examination system is being introduced in this regard. He added that tough they faced some problems due to the process, concrete measures have been taken for reviewing the shortcomings and weaknesses.
He expressed satisfaction over the paper rechecking work and took keen interest in the method of scanning and checking of papers through computers. Chairman Board, Syed Mumtaz Hussain apprised the minister of the progress and said that 100 percent work of subjective papers has been completed while rechecking of objective papers is underway speedily.
Director Colleges, Rana Munawar Khan, Secretary Board, Dr Shaukat Ali Shaukat, Controller, Malik Zafar Iqbal and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the minister participated in the annual prize distribution ceremony of Jinnah Poly Technical Institute, Samundri Road. Addressing the participants, he said that Punjab government has focused its attention on the promotion of technical education for bringing out industrial revolution by imparting the youngsters with advance technology of industry, trade and business. He appreciated the performance of the institution and congratulated position holder students. Former MNA, Mian Abdul Manan and others were also present on the occasion.
