Another four people succumbed to dengue virus raising the total number of deaths in Punjab to 314 including 272 in Lahore. According to a report of Health Department Punjab, as many as 76 confirmed dengue patients have been reported in Punjab out of them, 37 patients were reported in Lahore raising the total number of dengue patients in Punjab to 20,565 out of which 17,097 belong to Lahore.
According to the information of the department, 473 dengue patients were admitted in different hospitals in Punjab out of them 318 were under treatment in different hospitals of Lahore. As per report, 192 dengue patients have been cured and discharged from various hospitals of Lahore during the last 24 hours which include 44 patients from Mayo Hospital, 19 from LGH, 26 from Services Hospital, 10 from Jinnah Hospital, 14 from Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital, 69 from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 2 from Nawaz Sharif Hospital Yakki Gate and 8 patients discharged from Mian Munshi Hospital.
According to the report so far 20,249 dengue patients have been cured and discharged from different hospitals in Punjab out of them, 17,058 patients cured and discharged from various hospitals of Lahore. Moreover, Chairman Dengue Control Committee Nishter Town, Naseer Bhutta MNA has said that free of cost treatment facilities to the dengue patients are being provided in public sector as well as private hospitals. He further said that all available resources are being utilised to overcome the dengue virus.
He said that boys and girls students can inform the society about preventive steps against dengue virus in a better way and positive results have been brought out after the participation of male and female students in the campaign against dengue fever. He said that students are apprising the people about spray and precautionary measures against dengue in individual and collective communication, whereas, worth mentioning point to the people is that dengue fever is a curable disease.
