Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Saturday claimed to have arrested over a dozen suspects in separate raids at different areas of Lyari and Baldia Town. According to police sources, heavy contingents of LEAs conducted raids at Memon Society, Lea Market, Nayabad, Baghdadi and other surrounding areas and detained five suspects, including Farhan and recovered three TT pistols from them.
Sources said the accused Farhan was a close aide of notorious gangster Wasiullah Lakho. Later they were shifted to unknown place for further interrogation. Sources further said the LEAs had detained three more suspects from Lea Market and recovered hand grenade and a snatched vehicle from them. Similarly, a raid was conducted in the slum area of Baldia Town including Gulshan-e-Mazdoor and arrested four suspects namely Sakhawat, Shoaib alias Jamil, Ali Nawaz and Aslam with arms.
