"Cases would be registered under the anti-terrorist act against those who would be involved in forcedly collection of animal hides", Sindh government on Monday has announced 12-point-Code of Conduct in this regard with the consensus of all political parties.
Briefing about the Code of Conduct (CoC), Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wasan said while addressing a press conference here at his office that Sindh government has prepared a CoC for the collection of animal hides on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha in order to avoid possibilities of any kind of violence.
He said that in order to monitor the practices of collection of animal hides, Rangers, Police and FC would do patrolling in every area of Karachi during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha. He said if any body complains regarding the forcibly collection of animal hides, he can register his complain at the number 021-9920744-8 of Home Minister Complaint Center (HMCC), this center is working 24 hours.
He distributed the copies of CoC among all the people of media on the occasion. According to CoC, every political party who is involved in collection of animal hides has to get the permission in this regard from the home department or DCO office Karachi. Permission would be issued to those political parties and non-governmental organisations which would be already registered, signatories of CoC and would not violate the CoC in the future as well.
No political party or organisation would establish the camp to collect the hides of animals and no announcements would be allowed through loud speakers in this regard. No body would be allowed to go and knock the doors for the collection of hides of animals, local people can do this job with their own will for any party or organisation, CoC stated.
Sindh government would provide full security to the vehicles and places, used for the purpose of collection of animal hides, all should inform about the their vehicles and places to the concerned SP police till tomorrow (2nd November).
Nobody can carry even the licensed weapon during the collection of animal hides and all should cooperate with local police in this regard, CoC concluded. Earlier, a meeting was held in the chair of home minister Manzoor Hussein Wasan, Muttahida Qaumi Movement's Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Mohammad Raza Haroon, Pakistan People's Party's Najmi Alam and Saeed Ghani, Awami National Party's Shahi Syed, Jamait-e-Islami's Mohammad Hussein Mehnti and Nasurullah Shajeeh, Jafaria Alliance's Syed Shabr Zaidi, Suni Tehreek's Shahid Gauri, representatives of Edhi Foundation, Alamgir Welfare Trust, Shaukat Khanam Hospital and others attended the meeting.
Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police Syed Mushtaq Shah, Deputy Director General Pak Rangers, DCO Karachi and others were also present during the meeting. Wasan said that stakeholders of all political parties and non-governmental organisations have assured me to follow the newly-made CoC of Sindh government.
