Inspector General of Sindh Police (IGP) Syed Mushtaq Shah has directed all the district and zonal police heads in the province to take strict security measures during Eid-ul-Azha. "All the mosques and places of religious gatherings should be given full security while sensitive areas must also be given extra police force," he said, according to a statement of the Central Police Office (CPO) issued here on Sunday.
The IGP further directed that the implementation of Section 144 be ensured without any discrimination all over the province and all the stake-holders be contacted for better co-ordination to maintain peace in their respective areas.
He also directed the zonal police heads to keep liaison with the Central Police Office in case of any incident of violence and make liable all the concerned SHOs to protect the vehicles involved in collection and transportation of the hides of sacrificial animals. Mushtaq Shah also asked for improved co-ordination with the intelligence agencies, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and all officials of the police department during the Eid days.
He also called for mobilisation of all resources to ensure security at the cattle market established on Super Highway in the outskirts of the city.
