The Karachi Port handled 94,058 tonnes of cargo comprising 77,113 tonnes of import cargo and 16,945 tonnes of export cargo including 1,427 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 77,113 tonnes comprised of 10,072 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,041 tonnes of DAP and 56,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,945 tonnes comprised of 7,691 tonnes of containerised cargo; 65 tonnes of general cargo; 9,189 tonnes of bulk cargo: 7,648 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 1,541 tonnes of cement. Three ships namely Kota Singa, APL Pearl and Abdullatif-S carrying two container ships and one cement carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Samin-1, Bux Melody, Guanabara and MT Karachi carrying two container ships and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Bux Melody, UBC Cyprus and MT Karachi carrying one container ship, one cement carrier and one oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while another ship namely Guanabara with cement carrier is expected to sail on Friday.
Two vessels viz YM Fuzhou and Pan Lan Hai carrying one container ship and one steel coils carrier respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while nine vessels viz OOCL Dalian, Emirates Kabir, Kota Arif, Positano, APL Sharjah, Chemway Arrow, Rivertec, Emerald Coral and Caribe Maiden carrying five container ships, one ethanol carrier, one DAP ship, one general cargo ship and one steel carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
The total export cargo of 17,859 tonnes includes 3,830 tonnes of cement and 14,029 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two container ships namely CV CMA CGM Chopan and CV Al-Mirqab sailed out to sea on Thursday morning. A total number of five vessels CV CMA CGM Chopan, CV Al-Mirqab, CV Henry, MV Amira Dina and MTM Tokyo are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Nexoe Maersk, Pisti, NYK Kai and Al-Soor-II with three container ships and one diesel oil tanker respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Nexoe Maersk, CV Pisti, CV NYK Kai and MT Al-Soor-II carrying three container ships and one diesel oil tanker respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday, while two vessels viz MT Sea Sky and MT Golden Ambrosia with one furnace oil tanker and a chemicals carrier due to arrive on the same day. Three ships namely CV MSC Anafi, CV Atlantic Trader and MT SC Dalia with two container ships and a palm oil tanker are due to arrive on Friday at Port Qasim.
