Implementation of resolution against drone attacks: LHC defers hearing of petition till November 14

The Lahore High Court on Thursday deferred till November 14 the hearing of a petition filed by Jamat-ud-Dawa Chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed for implementation of the resolution unanimously passed by parliament against US drone attacks.
On October 13 the court had rejected a report and para-wise comments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had directed the Ministry to file a satisfactory reply. During the proceedings on Thursday, a Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Zia-ul-Qamar Bhatti produced a letter written by the federal government stating, "we are working out para-wise replies as per court's orders which have not been completed therefore, some more time be allowed.
Hafiz Saeed's counsel AK Dogar said that drone attacks on Pakistan soil was matter of protection of rights of citizens as so far hundreds of people including women children had been killed but the government was not showing concerns on this issue. He said that the government was using delaying tactics and drone attacks were continued like before despite the government claims and no letup had been witnessed in these attacks. What government was talking about stopping of US drone attacks was not correct.
