Tribute paid to Professor Shahid Hussian

The GC University Lahore Philosophy Department has organised a condolence reference in the memory of the late Professor Shahid Hussian, a renowned philosopher and prolific writer, and paid tribute to the commendable services that he rendered during his 40-year stay at the Government College Lahore.
GCU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman chaired the reference while noted analyst Dr Mehdi Hassan, noted philosopher Mirza Ather Baig, noted physicist Professor Dr Zakria Butt, Dr Sajid and the wife and son of the late Professor Shahid Hussain were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman said that Dr Shahid was a man of commitment and conviction and the university would follow the great traditions set by him as the head of GC Philosophy Department. Dr Mehdi Hassan said that Pakistan needs philosophers like Professor Shahid as "we are living in cultural, ideological and philosophical vacuum."-PR
