The Karachi Port handled 100,044 tonnes of cargo comprising 75,027 tonnes of import cargo and 25,017 tonnes of export cargo including 6,705 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 75,027 tonnes comprised of 62,057 tonnes of containerised cargo; 17 tonne of general cargo; 5,124 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,938 tonnes of wheat; 3,186 tonnes of soyabean meal and 7,829 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 25,017 tonnes comprised of 19,375 tonnes of containerised cargo; 78 tonnes of general cargo; 2,764 tonnes of cement and 2,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Sima Singapore, Dlace, Navig-8 Spirit, Ginga Marlin and Bsle Pacific carrying one container ships, one naphtha ship, one oil tanker, one ethanol carrier and one talcum powder carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Kota Anggerik, APL Guangzhou, Sima Singapore, YM Fuzhou, YM South and Lodestar Genesis carrying five container ships and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Kota Anggerik and Emirates Marina carrying two container ships expected to sail on Saturday, while five ships namely YM Fuzhou, YM South, Lodestar Genesis, Leopard-B and Fade-1 carrying two container ships, one oil tanker, one cement carrier and one wheat carrier respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Three vessels viz OEL Shreyas, MOL Bravery and MT Lahore carrying two container ship and one crude oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while five vessels viz APL Ruby, Hyundai Highness, C Balled, Alliance Beaumont and Ocean Friend carrying two container ships, one DAP carrier, one vehicles carrier and one coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday. Five ships namely St. Cergue, Samin-1, Cooper River Bridge, Caribbean Sea and Great Hope with four container ships and one DAP carrier respectively are due to arrive on Monday.
The total import cargo of 52,779 tonnes includes 35,422 tonnes of furnace oil; 2,466 tonnes of LPG and 14,891 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 17,237 tonnes includes 1,851 tonnes of cement and 15,386 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely CV Olympic Serenity and MT Gas Elixir sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. A total number of four vessels CV MSC Anafi, MV Amira Dino, CV Olympic Serenity and MT Gas Elixir are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, LPG and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. Two ships namely Alaska-II and Elbe Trader with cement and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container vessel viz CV Elbe Trader expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Saturday.
