Chairman Emergency Response Committee for Dengue, Mian Marghoob Ahmad has directed the town administration to remove hundreds of old tyres placed outside the tyre shops in Samanabad Town as these are the ideal places of dengue mosquito growth.
Addressing a meeting in Samanabad Town, here on Friday, Mian Marghoob directed the town officers that no tyre should be seen hanging or placed outside the tyre shops and if it happens, stern action would be taken against the said shopkeepers and the officers concerned.
Town Municipal Officer told the meeting that he checked the 246 tyre shops of Samanabad Town and issued warning to the owners of the shops whereas stern action would be initiated from Friday against those who could not act on the warning. He added that such tyres would be shred after taken into custody.
The chairman emergency response body directed the town officers to make arrangements to conduct fogging and spray in more than 200 junkyards and scrap houses situated in Samanabad Town. He also advised strict action without any discrimination against those owners of the junkyards who make hurdle in spray and fogging process. Chairman Dengue Control Committee Nishter Town, Naseer Bhutta MNA said that free of cost treatment facilities to the Dengue patients are being provided in the public sector as well as private hospitals.
He said that all available resources are being utilised to overcome the dengue virus. He said that women can effectively organise and persuade the families regarding protective measures of dengue fever. He furthered that male and female students can inform the society about preventive steps against dengue virus in a better way and positive results have been brought out after the participation of male and female students in the campaign against dengue fever, he added. He said that students are apprising the people about spray and precautionary measures against dengue in individual and collective communication, whereas, worth mentioning point to the people is that dengue fever is a curable disease.
