After repeated failure of the tax department to implement an error-free IT system, the Federal Board of Revenue has constituted another team to implement and operationalise an integrated IT system at the level of the field formations. In this connection, the FBR has issued an office order here on Friday.
According to the notification, a core business domain team on implementation and making operational new IT system in the FBR has been reconstituted with the following members: Shafiq Muhammad (IRS/BS-19) (Head of the Team), Chief/ OPS (IR-Automation) IR Wing, FBR (HQ), Islamabad; Naveed Ahmad Nawab (IRS/BS-19) Additional Director, Directorate of Training DOT (IR), Lahore; Aisha Farooq (IRS/BS-19), Secretary, HRM Wing, FBR (HQ), Islamabad; Nafeesa Satti (IRS-BS-18), Additional Commissioner (OPS), RTO, Rawalpindi; Fawad Khan Yousafzai (IRS/BS-18), Secretary (OPS), FBR (HQ), Islamabad; Amir Ilyas (IRS/BS-17), Assistant Commissioner, LTU, Islamabad and Imtiaz Ahmed, General Manager, PRAL, Islamabad.
The above officers will also continue to work on their present assignments and draw the salary from current office, the FBR office order added. Sources told Business Recorder that the IT systems are available to the tax officials in the field formations, but the tax officials are reluctant to use the system. The Team would train the tax officials in the field formations to encourage them to use these IT systems without hesitation.
In this regard, the FBR would conduct training sessions for effective use of the Integrated Tax Management System and other IT systems available in the field formations. The FBR had already constituted the Team and now two additional members have been added to the team. The new members are Aisha Farooq (IRS/BS-19), Secretary, HRM Wing and Amir Ilyas (IRS/BS-17), Assistant Commissioner, LTU, Islamabad. Sources added that the some of the tax officials are still not ready to fully use the IT systems applicable in the field offices. The Team would ensure applicability of all such IT systems in the field offices in an effective manner.
