The law enforcement agencies on Friday claimed to have arrested eight suspects including a target killer in separate raids in various parts of the metropolis. According to police sources, the Crime Branch Zone II apprehended a man accused of being involved in over two dozen cases of targeted killings.
They said the accused, who was identified as Shahid Jamil aliasTariq Chamber, was arrested after a brief encounter from Sohrab Goth area. Police said the accused, who was arrested with LMG and two Kalashnikovs, is a worker of a political party. They said he was nominated in 30 targeted killing cases including the murders of two cops and an activist of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Yousuf Baloch.
They said the accused had also involved in several other notorious crimes and was in jail for 11 years and added that the police had also recovered a cultus car (AQH-238) from his possession. Moreover, they said the police on his information had also recovered four more Kalashnikovs from any empty plot located in Ahsanabad area. Meanwhile, heavy contingents of rangers conducted search operations in Khadda market and its other surrounding area and detained seven suspects and recovered weapons from their possession. Sources said the raid was conducted on the information that Lyari gangsters were present in the area.
