The business community at a seminar expressed reservations over E-filing of Sales/income tax returns and called for brining changes in the system to address their concerns. The seminar held under the auspices of Facilitation & Taxpayer Education Wing, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in collaboration with Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Thursday.
The Chief Commissioner in Land Revenue, Mohammad Younis Khan, was the chief guest on the occasion. SCCI President, Afan Aziz, Vice-President Zia ul Haq Sarhadi, members of business community and taxpayers attended the seminar. The taxpayers asked the Federal Board of Revenue to make easy process of E-filing of returns in order to remove irritants of the business community.
Chief Commissioner in Land Revenue, Mohammad Younis Khan, while addressing the seminar said that they are striving to promote close relationship with the business community. He assured that the business community's any kind of reservations regarding the E-filing system would be addressed, adding that the board will take up relevant issues by its own, while other problems should be conveyed to FBR. "We want to give maximum facilitate to the taxpayers and bring more easiness within the system", therefore, the FBR had introduced E-filing returns system in this regard, he added.
SCCI President, Afan Aziz, in his speech pointing out number of flaws in E-filing returns system, said that the system had introduced in result of reforms in FBR. Though, he welcomed the FBR awareness campaign regarding web based services, but the business community is facing enormous problems because of not taking them on board in preparation of E-filing returns system.
