Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Karachi Division finalised various programmes to mark the 4th anniversary of Karsaz twin-blasts incident, on October 18 to pay homage to the party activists, who embraced martyrdom in the incident.
PPP Karachi Division met with its President Syed Najmi Alam in the chair at Peoples Secretariat here on Sunday. The meeting discussed the arrangements to mark the 4th anniversary of Karsaz tragedy.
The Karsaz incident had occurred on October 18, 2007, when two blasts hit the welcoming rally of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto near Karsaz. According to PPP 275 party workers had lost their lives, while over 600 wounded.
The meeting decided that the party leaders would visit the residences of martyrs of Karsaz twin blasts and would also visit their graves. The participants of the meeting were informed that PPP leaders, workers and supporter will also gather at Yadgar-e-Shuhada Karsaz, a memento built in memories of the martyrs of Karsaz blasts, at 5 pm.
It was also told that a reception camp has been set up at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada Karsaz, where a documentary film about the home-coming rally of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on October 18, 2007, would be played on a giant multi-media screen.
A photo exhibition of more than 400 photos depicting the life of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto by a famous photojournalist, Agha Feroze would also be held on October 18, the participants of the meeting were informed.
After lighting lamps and laying flowers at 6 pm and 6:30 pm, the fateha would be held for the martyrs of Karsaz tragedy at 7 pm.
