Business community rejects closure of shops at 6pm

The business community of Rawalpindi and Islamabad has rejected closure of shops at 6 pm as decided by the federal cabinet, in principle, on Wednesday, which met under the chairmanship of Prime Minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani. A statement issued by the Chairman Founder Group, Munawar Mughal, soon after the decision taken by the federal cabinet in which the decision was categorically rejected.
"Most of the people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are employees and if they reach their homes after six pm businesses will no more be open," said, Khalid Chaudhry, a businessman while talking to Business Recorder. According to him, the issue of two weekly holidays has been referred to the Council of Common Interests (CCI) which is represented by the Chief Ministers of four provinces and if any Chief Minister vetoed the decision, it cannot be implemented.
