LSE index up by 83.64 points

Bullish sentiment dominated at Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday and equities registered gains amid ascending transaction volume on account fresh entries in oil and fertiliser sectors shares. The LSE-25 index rose to 3263.13 points against 3179.49 points of last Friday, denoting a gain of 83.64 points while turnover increased to 3.361 million shares as compared to previous volume of 1.877 million shares.
The market opened on a positive sign and stayed in green zone almost throughout the day. The investors' buying interest helped the market improvement. Pakistan Oilfields, PSO, OGDC, PPL, Mari Gas, Engro Corp, Fauji Fertiliser, Fatima Fertiliser, Lucky Cement, D G Khan Cement, Nishat Mills, Arif Habib Corp, PTCL, National Bank and Lotte Pakistan PTA performed well.
Selling pressure was seen in United Bank, Bank of Punjab, Nimir Industrial Chemical, Sui Northern and Treet Corporation as investors offloaded their holdings to secure their positions. The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 98 active issues, 42 companies posted gains, 10 stayed in negative column, while values of 46 companies remained unchanged.
Millat Tractor improved by Rs 13.02, Pakistan Oilfields appreciated by Rs 8.71, Fauji Fertiliser gained Rs 7.85, PSO was up by Rs 6.50, and Engro Corporation gained Rs 5.60. In the negative column, Sally Textile Mills lost Rs 1.00, Nimir Industrial Chemical declined by 95 paisa, Treet Corporation was down by 91 paisa and United Bank lost 48 paisa. Fatima Fertiliser with trading of 704,731 shares topped the volume leaders followed by Lotte Pakistan PTA with 362.940 shares.
