The Karachi Port handled 61,265 tonnes of cargo including 37,132 tonnes of import cargo, 24,133 tonnes of export cargo and 1,759 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 37,132 tonnes comprised of 11,672 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,826 tonne of general cargo; 15,874 tonnes of bulk cargo: 5,226 tonnes of DAP; 1,678 tonnes of wheat; 8,930 tonnes of coal and 7,760 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,133 tonnes comprised of 13,865 tonnes of containerised cargo; 656 tonnes of general cargo; 812 tonnes of cement and 8,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Kota Singa, Conti Brisbane, Vinalines Sky and An Xin Jiang with two container ships, coal carrier and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels viz Emirates Wasi, Cap Graham and Nizar-M carrying two container ships and bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Cap Graham, Grand Sapphire and Marilena carrying container ship, vehicles carrier and LSD tanker respectively expected to sail on Friday, while two ships namely Kota Azam and Toumeh carrying container ship and wheat carrier respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Five vessels viz Kota Azam, APL Sokhna, YM South, YM Fuzhou and Eagle Stealth carrying four container ships and LSFO tanker respectively due to arrive on Friday, while five vessels viz Sima Singapore, OEL Trust, Al-Ihsaa, Gennaro Ievoli and Freja Nordica carrying three container ships, enthanol carrier and mogas ship respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
