Several changes seen on grain market

Several changes were seen on the wholesale grain market on Thursday as retailers were busy in fresh buying because they could not purchase due to heavy rains in the city, dealers said. On the cereals side, makai low type gained Rs 75 to Rs 2325 while the best type retained overnight level at Rs 2375, Khandsari was sharply higher by Rs 1050 to Rs 9550, wheat old and new bardan shed Rs 10 to Rs 2590-2605, they said.
On the grams side, grams Australia No 1 low type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 4900 and good type rose by Rs 650 to Rs 5700, gram dal Australia No 1 picked up Rs 200 to Rs 6100-6300, gram Australia No 2 was up by Rs 75 to Rs 4800-5000, gram dal Australia No 2 low type was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 5900 and good type was unchanged at Rs 6000, gram 50x50 gained Rs 200 to Rs 5700-5900 and bajra, however, fell, low type was down by Rs 50 to Rs 2400 and superior type lost Rs 500 to Rs 2800 due to good supply position, they said.
Only one change was seen on the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh low and new quoted at Rs 3700-3750 and 3675-3700, respectively. On the seeds side most of the items retained overnight levels except cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low quality lost Rs 100 to Rs 1300 while the best quality managed to hold the overnight levels in process of slow trading, they said.
