Extortion mafia, killers, kidnappers: government urged to continue surgical operation to nab criminals

Traders and industrialists have urged the government to continue and further intensify ongoing surgical operation to nab extortion mafia, target killers, kidnappers and other criminals in all areas of the city.
They expressed that there is visible decline in the incidents of target killing whereas there seems no impact on extortion mafia and dacoits; they are operating in the city freely without fear of being apprehended Leader of business community and former President FPCCI, S.M.Munir, demanded of the government to carry out surgical operation in the city without discrimination and in all areas to nab the criminals.
He expressed that the police and the Rangers have initiated surgical operation recently and they must continue it till achieving desired results. Those who have been arrested and found guilty must be punished. He said that the extortion mafia harassing industrialists and traders and added that a very large number of industrialists have already either wound up their units and moved abroad or planning to go abroad.
President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Saeed Shafiq expressed fear that the target killing has been halted temporarily and it may surface again after some time. He said that extortion mafia and dacoits are active as before and there activities have not been stop for a single day.
He pointed out that scrap traders have been kidnapped from scrap market even during ongoing surgical operation in various parts of the city. Ongoing operation must be intensified and result-oriented. Chairman, Law and Order Committee of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Nadeem Khan, said that extortion mafia, dacoits and target killers have destroyed businesses in the city and urged the government to make appropriate efforts to get these criminals arrested and castigate.
Chairman Site Association of Industry (SAI), Wahab Lakhani, said if the government is determined to overcome law-and-order problem than it can achieve the objective with the help of police and the Rangers in a day or two. He said that the government must carry on ongoing operation without any fear of reaction Chairman, Pakistan Chemicals and Dyers Merchant Association (PCDMA), Haroon Aga, said that initial results of continuing surgical operation against crimes have started coming in He demanded initiation strict action against extortion mafia on same line as taken against target killers.
