First death anniversary of Imran Farooq: MQM postpones birthday celebrations of Altaf Hussain

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has decided that no official celebrations will be held on the occasion of the birthday of Altaf Hussain in Pakistan or in any other part of the world. This decision was taken in a joint meeting of the committee held simultaneously in London and Pakistan.
The birthday celebrations have been cancelled in view of the first death anniversary of the late Convenor of the MQM Dr Imran Farooq, recent bloodshed in Karachi and the large-scale devastations caused by heavy rains and floods in the province of Sindh and other parts of the country.
The meeting decided that the first death anniversary of Dr Imran Farooq would be observed with reverence. Recitation of the Holy Qura'an and fateha will be performed in all the zones in Pakistan and overseas units of the MQM. Special prayers will be made for the divine forgiveness of the innocent people in recent spate of bloodshed and violence in Karachi. Prayers will also be made for the unfortunate souls who lost their lives because of heavy rains and the resulting floods in Sindh. The Co-ordination Committee paid glowing tributes to Dr Imran Farooq for his services to the party.
