Secretary Health Punjab, Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan has appealed to all the private hospitals through media to provide data of dengue patients visiting to their facilities to the health department so that accurate and effective future planning could be evolved.
He said this during media briefing regarding dengue fever in KEMU here, on Wednesday. DCO Lahore Ahad Khan Cheema, Khawaja Salman Rafique MPA, DG Health Punjab Dr Aslam Chaudhry, VC KEMU Professor Asad Aslam Khan, Professor Irshad, Professor Muaz and MS Mayo Hospital Dr Zahid Pervaiz were also present on the occasion. Secretary Health said that uptil now the total number of dengue patients who were cured and discharged was 4769 whereas 250 patients are under-treatment in different hospitals.
He further said that the total number of dengue patients reported during 2011-12 to-date are 3765 and in the last 24 hours 353 fresh cases has been reported in Lahore whereas eight deaths due to dengue fever have been confirmed. On this occasion, DCO Lahore briefed about the fogging and anti-mosquito spray campaign. He informed that the spray teams at UC level have been beefed up and another 400 spray pumps would be provided within a day or two.
