The Lahore High Court here on Tuesday restrained Post Mater General (PMG) of Pakistan from demolishing 100-year-old post office inside Mochi gate Lahore. The Court directed the PMG to file its reply to the petition by October 17. The petitioner locals of the area pointed out that a 100 years' old post office in the area is in dilapidated condition and instead of renovating it PMG has ordered to demolish it.
He said the building has historic significance and it should be preserved. He, therefore, prayed to the Court to restrain the respondent from demolition of the building. The Court inclining with the petitioner counsel issued stay orders against demolishing of the historic building of the post office.
