Awami National Party Senator Zahid Khan on Monday condemned what he alleged the removal of a senior TV anchor by a channel's management. Speaking on a point of order, Zahid Khan said the journalist was sacked for speaking against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain.
Babar Ghauri, an MQM senator, however, said that neither the journalist had been sacked nor his party had made any call to that news channel to seek his removal or put his talk show off air. According to him, the journalist is still working with that news channel. Meanwhile, a resolution was moved to discuss the devastating floods in Sindh, which also fell victim to disagreement among the Senate members.
