At least eight persons including a woman were killed in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis on Monday. According to the police, a security guard of private factory was killed by his own rifle in the limits of Awami Colony police station.
The victim 23-year-old Aachar, son of Abdul Hakeem, who was deployed in private factory situated in Landhi sector 19, received fatal bullet wounds while cleaning his rifle. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities.
Two persons including a woman were crushed to death while five other injured near Siemens Chowrangi in the limits of Site A police station. The incident took place near Siemens Chowrangi where two speedy passenger buses collided with each other. Resultantly a 35-year-old woman and 50-year-old man were killed while five other Saima, Nadeem, Kashan, Rizwan and Saleem were injured.
Police shifted the bodies and injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities and medical treatment. Police said identities of both victims were yet to be ascertained. A young man died in traffic accident at Korangi Road in the precincts of Zaman Town police station. The victim 25-year-old Sajid, son of Mohammad Hussain, a resident of Orangi town sector 2, was knocked by speedy passenger bus when he was on the way to home from work. Resultantly he died on spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities and later handed over to his family. Yet another man was killed at Northern Bypass in the limits of Memon Goth police station.
A two-day-old infant's drowned body was found from Manora Beach in the limits of Docks police station. Police said the rescue teams recovered the body of Waseem, 22, son of Abdul Jabbar, from Manora Beach. Two men were electrocuted at Power House Chowrangi and M.A Jinnah road, respectively. Both victims received severe shocks when they touched electric poles and died on the spots.
