Rains caused unprecedented damage: Sharjeel

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that rains have affected 13,249 villages and 0.3 million people while 200 people have died so far. Talking to a private news channel on Monday, he said the current spell of monsoon rains has broken all previous records and it has caused damage at a large scale. He said that 0.4 million acre land had affected and standing crops on 1.7 million acre were totally destroyed.
"Government is working day and night to provide relief to the people. National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Sindh government and district governments are providing food and tents to the affected people, he added.
