Two dacoit gangs were busted and nabbed ten persons for their alleged involvement in robbery, drug pushing, possessing illegal arms, recovering one pistol, gold ornaments worth Rs 700,000, laptops, mobile phones, drugs and other commodities were recovered from their possession.
In another case, Hassan Abbas an elderly man came into Habib Bank Melody branch to deposit money. An unknown person inside the bank offered his service to count the cash. The unknown man escaped with Rs 97,000, police sources said. Aabpara Police registered a case and arrested the security guard namely Hazrat Rehman for negligence.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Industrial Area, Ishaq Warraich assigned the task of curbing dacoities in the area to SHO Sabzi Mandi and a team was constituted in this regard, who succeeded in nabbing seven persons of the two gangs namely Irfan Hameed, Fazlur Rehman r/o Toba Tek Singh, Amir Hameed, Zhageer Hussain, Kabir Khan r/o Rawalpindi, Shahid Mehmood and Akhtar Ali residents of Phagwari Murree.
Sabzi Mandi Police stopped a persons namely Muhammad Saeed at IJP Road and on checking one pistol (30-bore) and five bullets were recovered from him. A fast driven car bearing registration no GAT 25 smashed Saqib Kazmi in DHA phase II in the jurisdiction of Sihala Police, who was riding on a motorcycle No RIL-4647, Police sources said. The driver managed to escape from the crime scene, they added.
Shalimar Police registered a case against unknown car thieves on the application of Tariq Mehmood who stated that he came to meet his friend in street 56, F-11/4 and parked his Toyota Corolla GLi bearing registration number LEG-5293 outside when he came out the car was missing. Secretariat Police during routine patrolling stopped a person namely Muhammad Usman and recovered 150 gram charas from his possession.
