Achieving sustainable results: EFP urges government on strong, fact-based industrial policies

President Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP), Haji Muhammad Javed has said that EFP is playing its instrumental role in the all-round development of the country and serving as a bridge between the employers and employees.
Talking to media persons, here on Thursday, at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), he said industrial development, cordial relationship among the employees and employers and peaceful environment for investment are the main factors for stability of economy of the country.
He informed that they are taking drastic steps for the capacity building of industrial workers and discouraging the forced child labour of all form the country. They are making strenuous efforts for developing highly healthy working relationship between the employers and employees for enhancing the productivity. A healthy industrial environment is imperative for attaining ultimate goals of economy, he added.
A special "Information and Research" unit has been set up by Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) aimed at preparing data of selected areas and prepare survey reports for providing up-to-date information to the investors before investment. He further said they are creating awareness among the corporate sector about the social responsibilities and providing guidance to private sector about women employment opportunities and edging out possibilities of discrimination and ensure social justice. President EFP further said that fact based policies are direly needed but unfortunately that government institutions are ignoring the ground realities and working on temporary policies, which is hindering the overall industrial development.
