Deaf, mute Pakistani boy returns home after imprisonment in India

A Pakistani boy with hearing and speech impairments was reunited on Monday with his family after being held in India for seven months .
Indian authorities handed over Hasnain Javed to Pakistan authorities through Wagah Border crossing. The young boy was arrested by Indian Border Security Force after crossing the border in May, 2017.
After watching a report on a local news channel, Javed’s family was able to identify the boy after which social activist Ansar Burney started efforts to reunite him with his family. Javed identified himself as Pakistani by pointing out the Pakistani flag.
According to local media reports, Javed was released from the prison after he completed his sentence, after which he was staying at a children observation home in Faridkot.
