Pakistan Foreign Office Women's Association held a certificate distribution ceremony at the Foreign Office on Friday to give away prizes to the position/distinction holders and participants of the computer course who successfully completed their training.
The Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan Ishak Latuconisia was the chief guest on the occasion. Madam Butar Latuconisia and representatives of the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) were also present on the occasion.
Taranum Bashir, President PFOWA highlighted the special relationship between PFOWA and the Indonesian Women Association. She apprised the participants of the charity activities and social support programmes being assisted by Butar Latuconsia, in Pakistan. Shahida Shah, Education Secretary PFOWA presented 2010-11 Education Report. She highlighted various activities of PFOWA's education wing for the promotion of education in Pakistan and appreciated the students who have achieved excellence in their academic performance.
The Indonesian Ambassador congratulated the position holders and all those who successfully completed their computer training programme. He encouraged the participants to make the best use of their education and to become a role model for the society. Ishak Latuconsina also underscored the importance of computer education for enhancing one's competitive and professional skills. The Indonesian Ambassador gave away prizes/certificates to 83 position holders and distributed completion certificates to 26 students who successfully completed their training course. The Ambassador also gifted special Batik bags to the students.
To acknowledge academic accomplishment, students of classes I to X and their parents are honoured at prize distribution ceremonies organised by PFOWA every year. These ceremonies serve to focus attention to a salient aspect of PFOWA welfare activities, namely the promotion of education.-PR
