Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has rejected Presidential reference in relation to PCO Judges. A private TV channel said the CJP remarked that the president may be informed that these PCO judges had never ever been the judges (ab-initio and void) and reference had no legal standing.
Quoting from what it said documents, the TV channel said that Supreme Court (SC) registrar Faqir Hussain sent a letter to law secretary Masood Chishti on June, 28, stating that he (the law secretary) should inform President Asif Zardari that the CJP had refused to accept the presidential reference.
