The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed its concern over the inefficiency on the part of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL)'s officials who have failed to restore telephone service in most of the area of Badami Bagh.
As many as hundreds of telephones have been dead on account of development work in the area, said LCCI President Shahzad Ali Malik, Senior Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Arshad, Vice President Sohail Azhar and former Vice President Shafqat Saeed Piracha in their joint statement issued here Thursday.
They said that a large number of businessmen were suffering monetary loss of million of rupees in the absence of telephone service in Badami Bagh area, which was an important hub of auto-sector businesses. Not only the businessmen, but also the PTCL was facing revenue loss because of suspension of telephone service. They lamented that despite frequent requests to the staff concerned for restoration of telephone lines, no action has, so far, been taken. The LCCI office-bearers urged the company's high ups to intervene into the situation and direct the staff concerned to immediately restore telephone service in the area without further delay so as to enable the businessmen to carry on their activity without any trouble.
