The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Monday issued notice to film actress Meera in a petition of her alleged husband Attiqur Rehman who challenged a civil court order that had dismissed his application for medical examination to substantiate her claim of virginity.
The court also barred the civil court from deciding "jactitation of marriage suit" filed by Meera against Rehman till next date of hearing, June 29. Rehman through his counsel pleaded that the medical examination of Meera was essential to decide the main case but the civil court judge ignored this aspect.
He requested the court to allow medical examination of Meera and stayed proceedings on the jactitation of marriage suit before the civil court. Before the civil court, Rehman had filed application in response to the suit from Meera wherein she accused Rehman of preparing a fake Nikahnama (marriage certificate) showing her as his wife only to grab her property.
