US MIDDAY: wheat jumps

US grains rallied on Wednesday, with wheat futures climbing 2 percent and rising for the first time in a week, on renewed weather concerns in Europe and the United States. Corn and soyabeans also rose, as rain has delayed seeding both US crops and could reduce yields. Corn and soy were rebounding from sharp sell-offs earlier this week due to the rapid pace of plantings over the past several weeks.
Wheat for July delivery surged 2.2 percent, or 17-3/4 cents, to $7.97-1/2 per bushel, after four straight sessions of losses. July corn was up 1.5 percent, or 11 cents, to $7.44-1/4 per bushel and soybeans gained 8-1/4 cents to $13.80-1/2 as of 11:40 am CDT (1640 GMT).
