Islamabad Police on Wednesday started a new programme to collect information about the inhabitants of the capital city in order to remove anti-social elements from the city. The programme was introduced by the capital police to conduct a fresh survey for getting firsthand information about the tenants or other people living in different areas of the city.
This was decided in a high level meeting presided over by SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan. SP Saddar, Dr Khuram Rasheed, SP City, Muhammad Ilyas, SP Rural, Umer Hyat, SP Industrial Area, Ishaq Warraich, SP CIA, Chaudhry Liaqat Ali, Sub-Division Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) of Islamabad Police also attended the meeting.
The people will be given a form to fill, which will provide capital police a complete information about the dwellers, the meeting was informed. The SSP directed all police officials to conduct survey in their respective areas and gather information about all the persons living in their respective jurisdictions. He said that new forms have been introduced that would maintain complete information about the history of people residing permanently or temporarily.
He said that notables of the community were being involved in the process and Security and Vigilance Committees in various police stations have been activated to ensure obtaining accurate information. The SSP said that new beat system has been introduced in the city and Community Police Centers (CPCs) are functioning in various area aimed at maintaining high vigilance and curbing anti-social activities. The SSP also reviewed the performance of all police officials during the last month and directed them to dispose of under investigation cases at the earliest. He directed all SPs that investigation officers who are involved in delaying of submitting challans of cases in courts should be issued show cause notices.
