Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Rana Mashood, while meeting a nine-member young parliamentarians' delegation of US, here Saturday, said that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, by giving reforms agenda, has proven that Pakistani nation and its system has the potential to correct itself. He said if democratic institutions of Pakistan are improved and strengthened, fingers pointed at the country would themselves wither away.
Mashood said that with the strengthening of institutions Pakistan would emerge as a strong economy of Asia. He emphasised upon the delegation that sovereignty of Pakistan should be respected. He said they want trade instead of aid and asked the delegation to help the country achieve this goal. He claimed that PML-N is the only party that could 'break the begging bowl' and bring the country back on its feet.
Ron Nehring, Former Chairman Californian Republican Party led the parliamentarian delegation. Other delegation members were Michelle Bekkering, Matt Kennicott, Meshea Poore, Jesse Price, Erin Taylor, Jason Wiener, John Hurson, Kristin Rhebergen.
