Karachi Port's activities

The Karachi Port handled 111,109 tonnes of cargo including 71,143 tonnes of import cargo, 39,966 tonnes of export cargo and 3,096 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 71,143 tonnes comprised of 29,816 tonnes of containerised cargo; 100 tonnes of general cargo; 10,679 tonnes of bulk cargo: 6,736 tonnes of coal; 3,943 tonnes of rock phosphate and 30,548 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,966 tonnes comprised of 17,040 tonnes of containerised cargo; 470 tonnes of general cargo; 15,456 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,635 tonnes of cement; 11,821 tonnes of wheat and 7,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely Kota Arif, Hanjin Berlin, Konstantina, Cordelia, MT Lahore and Oriental Emerald carrying three container ships, crude oil tanker, coal carrier and naphtha respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz CSL Ride, APL Chicago, An Xin Jiang, Falda and Ocean Olympic carrying two container ships, general cargo ship, jet oil tanker and coal carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Chemroad Dita, Green Line and Hyundai Independence carrying ethanol, cement carrier and container ship respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while three ships namely CSL Ride, Falda and Seagull-D with container ship, oil tanker and wheat carrier are expected to sail on Sunday.
Five vessels viz Lavender, Al-Mirqab, TS Qingdao, Bussara Naree and Abba carrying three container ships and two steel coils carriers respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while two vessels viz Cape Manuel and APL Zircon carrying two container ships are due to arrive on Sunday. Seven ships namely Liquid Platinum, Trave Trader, Wan Hai-605, Bravo, Vira Bhum, Daffodil and Hanjin Durban with ethanol and six container ships are due to arrive on Monday.
