Canadian canola futures rise

ICE Canadian canola futures rose on Thursday to extend their longest winning streak in two months, as rain slowed planting on the Canadian Prairies, where progress is already behind schedule. Top canola-growing province Saskatchewan has planted 20 percent of its canola.
Total volume of about 18,800 contracts was highest in three weeks. July rose $2.40 to $574.50 on volume of 9,138 contracts. Fourth straight gain. New-crop November up $3.60 at $580.40 on volume of 9,262. July-November spread traded 3,917 times, settling at $5.90 carrying charge. Chicago July soybeans ended unchanged at US $13.79-1/2 per bushel. July soyoil up 0.16 cent to 57.46 US cents per lb.
