Prime Minister's 'Hunarmand Pakistan Programme': NAVTEC approves 196,645 unskilled youths

Muhammad Mumtaz Akhtar Kahloon Chairman NAVTEC Thursday said that NAVTEC has approved 196,645 unskilled youths under the Prime Minister's "Hunarmand Pakistan Programme", and President's "Fanni Maharat Programme". Out of which 112,000 have completed their courses, while 11,000 are under training and the rest number of students has yet to get training.
He said that in the light of the Prime Minister's directives, NAVTEC has taken the initiative of offering short term skill development programmes, mostly up to 6 months duration courses, in collaboration with public and private sector training institutes, covering four priority sectors including: Construction, Agriculture (Dairy & Livestock), Information Technology and Telecommunication and Skills for Women.
Moreover, the other sectors being addressed are Hospitality, Light Engineering, Paramedics, Services, Traditional Trades (Cottage Crafts etc) and Textile. These programmes cover the most backward areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Sindh, Balochistan, AJK, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan. Major partners for conducting the courses are provincial TEVTAs, Federal Ministries, Public-Sector Universities, Defence establishments and reputed public & private sector institutes and organisations.-PR
