Following the killing of a Saudi diplomat in drive-by shooting on Monday morning, the investigators, who gathered at a meeting to find logical conclusion of this incident, were divided in two different groups.
Sources said the cleavage of opinions surfaced in a meeting, held after the killing of the Saudi diplomat here. They said that investigators have been divided into two groups, of which, one group was of the view that the killing of Saudi diplomat Al Khatani was a reaction of Saudi government's refusal to own the widows of Osama bin Laden, while the other has treated the matter as sectarian violence.
Later, all investigation teams have been directed to present the evidences in accordance with their claims. Sources said that the meeting was attended by high-ups of all investigation agencies including Crime Investigation Department (CID), Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), etc. They said that Saudi officials have been asked to inform the authorities about their personal and official movements in order to provide proper security to them. It is pertinent to mention that the law enforcement agencies have made several arrests in this connexion but the names were not disclosed.
