A 20-member Pakistan delegation led by Iftikhar Ali Malik, Vice President Saarc CCI and former President Tariq Sayeed, left for Dhaka, Bangladesh to attend the 51st Executive Committee and the 16th General Assembly meeting of Saarc Chamber & Industry beginning tomorrow (Thursday).
According to Saarc CCI press release, the meeting will be attended by the representatives from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. B2B meetings have also been arranged for promotional of intra-regional and bilateral economic co-operation. It will approve amendments in the prevailing constitution of Saarc CCI to make the regional body a better functional body.
During the visit, Pakistan Saarc CCI delegation will hold meetings with parliamentarians, members of standing committee on trade and commerce and government of Bangladesh to exchange views in areas of mutual interest. It would seek their role towards promoting free trade regime in Bangladesh in particular and south Asian region in general. The delegation will also participate in a seminar "economic freedom and business environment in South Asia" today (Wednesday) in Dhaka which will be inaugurated by Bangladesh Commerce Minister, Mohammad Faruk Khan.
