Met department forecasts hot, dry weather

The provincial capital sizzled on Tuesday when the mercury touched 45.2 Celsius degrees, making it the hottest day of the ongoing summer session, and the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast hotter and dry weather for the next few days.
According to met analysis, seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas and hence mainly hot and dry weather with dust raising winds in plain areas is expected over most parts of the country. However, thunderstorm/rain is likely to occur over Bannu division and Kashmir.
Noor Pur Thal was the hottest spot in the country where the maximum temperature recorded was 48.5 Celsius degrees and Hunza was the coolest place where the temperature was 7.5 Celsius degrees. Meanwhile, the intensity of hot weather in Lahore kept the people indoors during the day time. The roads were almost empty that usually is jam-packed with vehicles and markets also gave deserted looks. Doctors have advised people cover their heads, while going out in the sun and drink a lot of fluids to avoid heat-stroke.
