Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Saturday inaugurated the much awaited Abaseen River ferry with a boat named after Pashto folklore romance character Esap Khan at well decorated Kund rest house. The Abaseen where history, romance and waters meet and certainly the other character of that folklore romance like the second boat named after Sherbano would reach in a month time as promised on this occasion to have the ferry tour for the people to enjoy.
Brain child of the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) and a project that cost Rs 7.6 million, the boats assembled in Karachi Harbe were entirely redesigned and transported to Kund with front and back span is 35 feet, each ferry has a total capacity of 30-40 passengers on top and lower decks.
For passengers' comfort onboard, toilet facility, air conditioning and refreshments have been provided. The fleet that ply between Kund Rest House and Attock through a river area steeped in the romance of history with live narration, onboard refreshments and excellent photography opportunities make this journey an unforgettable experience for tourists.
