I would like to congratulate Business Recorder for bringing out this special supplement on 2011 WCO IT Conference and Exhibition. Since its inception the WCO has built a tradition of excellence with its annual IT Conference and Exhibition.
WCO IT conferences have become a very successful platform to acquire knowledge on the latest IT developments. We have observed a growing need to establish a dialogue on technologies which would lead to efficiency gains and more effectiveness in daily Customs operations.
With the growing demand for outsourcing and supply chain efficiency becoming ever more important to support and maintain the country's competitiveness, we should strive to make freight forwarding and logistics solutions more widely available in the Pakistan. The future of freight forwarding and logistics industry depends on our collective voice, our commitment to action, and our adaptability to shifts in the environment impacting our industry. PIFFA proactive role with its members and partners positions us to meet these challenges. I wish participants make the best use of this forum and hope that it will become a successful platform to deepen Customs' knowledge on technologies and innovation.
