The Karachi Port handled 51,000 tonnes of cargo including 28,596 tonnes of import cargo, 22,404 tonnes of export cargo and 2,003 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 28,596 tonnes comprised of 11,075 tonnes of containerised cargo; 325 tonnes of general cargo; 1,196 tonnes of rock phosphate and 16,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,404 tonnes comprised of 7,921 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,489 tonnes of general cargo; 2,994 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,019 tonnes of cement; 975 tonnes of talcum powder and 10,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely MT Lahore, Bella, Shoko Maru, Hanjin Beijiang, Alliance St. Louis and Stena Paris carrying two oil tankers, two container ships, vehicles carrier and container ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels viz Alliance St. Louis, STX Patriakos and Quetta carrying vehicles carrier, container ship and oil tanker are currently at the berths.
A container ship namely STX Patriakos expected to sail on Thursday, while four ships namely Pardis, Cap Gebriel, Quetta and BSLE Star with container ships, talcum powder carrier and oil tanker are expected to sail on Friday. Five vessels viz Oriental Rose, YM Uranus, Lavender, Ital Ottima and Red Sea Spirit with ethanol, naphtha, two container ships and coal carrier respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while seven vessels viz Lodestar Genesis, FSL Singapore, Golden Dominance, CSL Ride, APL Sharjah, YM America and KiranAsya carrying chemicals, jet oil tanker, ethanol carrier, three container ships and wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
